    Hi,
I have noticed on some websites (not mindvalley ones) that where one signs up for newsletters they assign a value - for example one said something like:
"Sign up for our free newsletter, $120 value, yours free"

You know, I didn't as it seemed strange to me - how could a mere newsletter be valued so high?

On the other hand, now that I am writing up my series of free 'lessons' I guess they would be called, I realise they have a lot of information in them, and although they complement my online course, they are not strictly free chapters of the course, but contain a lot of important lead-in information. It is an email series, not a newsletter, though afterwards those who sign up WILL receive a newsletter by the same name, with relevant complementary information.

Hmm - so I was wondering - do I assign a $ value to my 'free' guide?

It will be called "Seven Secrets to Developing Nappy Free Confidence"

It is a ways off being launched yet!

I know - test it - but any insights would be appreciated - if there is no point then I can skip trying to work out a value!!

I don't know about assigning a value, but the title needs help!
If you want it to make sense outside the UK, change the title. (I'm from Texas and don't have a clue what it means. Zero value?)

I'm actually an Aussie! The UK, Aust, New Zealand use the term nappy. I am developing thee materials with the term I use for now - nappy. I didn't even know what a diaper was!

It will be called "Seven Secrets to Developing Diaper Free Confidence" as the US title - how to do all that is an issue I'm not tackling right now!

What it is - it is about EC - elimination communication - using minimal nappies/ diapers. Saved us thousands of dollars and it is great fun, very clean and practical. http://www.tribalbaby.org/ECindex.html

I'm developing a new area of my site as an e-commerce site, with an online course in how to learn and practice EC. The "Secrets" is my 'freebie' - I'm using the suggestions in the course to build my new site.

    Whoa!
Even with your explanation, it doesn't make a lot of sense.
But I guess someone will value the information.
As for assigning it a value, I'd vote No. That's just from my own reaction when I read those inflated, imaginary values that marketers put on their newsletters and bonuses. It's all hype and why would you want to give your customer the idea that you are spouting hype? Unless you actually sold the information for a certain amount, don't make one up.

    That was my thought, thanks.

I guess you don't have kids, that's why reducing the number of nappies/ diapers to change makes no sense? Believe me, changing nappies for only a few months is FAR preferable to changing them for 3+ years as most people now do!! YUCK!

Millions of people around the world do EC actually! LOL The knowledge has been largely 'lost' in the West, so information on how to do it is very useful to people who do it. For sure, it is a niche market. But it is my passion.

Hopefully you will write it more effectively in your online course, because what you wrote here did not convey the concept at all.

No, I don't have kids, but I know I would prefer to change fewer diapers if I did....but I didn't get that impression at all from what you said.

    Well, that's quite demoralising!!

I wasn't trying to explain the concept - just ask a silly question that popped up in my net exploring.

I have a site already that is an information site about EC, have quite a few visitors and lots of positive comments, so I am exploring going down this new path.

I'll keep working on my idea however, as I see a niche in the people who want to practice EC.
