    To Mind Valley Labs (Mike or Vishen),

    Is writing real, unique content articles and then submitting them to article directories a valid way to build good links to your site for SEO purposes? Or is this method flawed and out-dated? Any other advice on building genuine links besides writing good content and hoping someone links to it? Im having trouble getting my blog to be "well established" in the eyes of the search engine.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Write legitimate comments on other blogs in your niche. Also, link to blog posts of prominent blogs in your niche and use it to get noticed by them (you can mention in your comments on their blog), and it might get you links from them for your good posts.

    I have not used an article directory in several years because I have not found them to be very effective anymore. Here is what I would recommend:

    * Start a blog
    * Start focusing on writing unique content
    * Study blogging on how to get links, how to join the conversation to get traffic

    That should set you off on the right start.

    Yeah, article directories have basically no SEO impact. Try an optimized press release that someone might actually care enough to read. The aforementioned blog comment idea is good as well. Try swapping posts with some bloggers, too.
