    Hi Mike and Vishen,

I have bought a large number of PLR articles on various health topics e.g. back pain, acne, cellulite, acupuncture etc. with a view to monitising the sites for e-books, Adsense and affiliate programmes.

I have a fairly limited budget and not too much technical knowhow.

Do I set up a portal with one generic health landing page and then approximately 20 subdomains or do I set up a domain for each topic and what would be the best way to design the landing page?

If you can help me with this I would be eternally grateful.

    Regards

    Sandy

hi Sandy - give us some further info. What is the main monetization goal of the site. Are you looking to make money with Adsense, a subscriber base or direct sales off the site. The monetization strategy effects the advice I'll give.

    Hi Vishen

My original idea was to set up for Adsense, however, after further research, I feel that isn't the way I want to go.

Instead, I think selling affiliate products related to each topic with some means of building a subscriber base that I could use for back-end sales.

Although I do have some related e-books I could sell direct from the page I wonder if trying to combine everything would make it all a bit messy; though I have seen sites with as many as ten different sources for income on one page I do not know how effective these are.

There also seems to be a division of opinion as to whether placing Adsense on landing pages is useful or not.

I would say that the focus first and foremost should not be on monetization. First you need to deliver a site that offers great content and establish yourself in your market as a go to place. Otherwise, how are you going to get traffic. If you have targeted pages, then affiliate products can work very well. If you have hundreds or even thousands of pages of content, then you need to look into AdSense or Text-Link-Ads to monetize your site.
