I am setting up a new business, in the fashion industry arena. I am exploring MLM issues, and considering setting up such a network, aside use the Internet for the independent resellers. This site should help them interact with us, order, give feedback... etc. I am wondering more generally how the Avon's of the world cope with e-commerce, if there are any packaged software pieces to manage such a network... and equally if there are any specific issues, smart or creative ideas regarding direct e-commerce vs. direct sales via a people's network?
To be more specific to the one interested in the topic, our idea is to sell custom made, personalized fashion items (shirts, etc...). Therefore the sales person does not leave a product she/he has on stock, nor has to carry any inventory, but takes an order for a product wich is made on the spot. It's a bit like having the Dell computers sold through a MLM channel.
