My website http://www.ScentuellePatch.com markets an innovative patch that enhances sexual arousal for both men and women. The patches use our sense of smell to stimulate the production of dopamine. This technology is brand new and developed as a medical aid for people with a low libido. My problem? Since it has to do with sex, every keyword regarding that subject is exploited by the porn industry. Trying to compete with GoogleAds is nuts! How can we get around this... and all the spam filters that block any reference to sex? Help!!
You are definitely in a market thats hyper competitive in Google AdWords. The only way to compete via Google AdWords would be to: 1) Boost your conversion rate 2) Boost your average order size One idea would be to create a separate landing page for Google where users can only buy a bigger bundle (6 month supply, etc.) at a much higher price point so that you have enough money to play with to make the economics work.
Another opportunity might be eBay. I know that diet pills used to be a huge category so perhaps your product might also work for that. Affiliate marketing might also work great. You would have to look into related sites that offer your product.
Also, if your customers love your product and you get repeat orders, then think of how to turn your customers into your evangelists. Include a free trial pack that your customers can share with their friends. As long as the free trial pack includes information on how / where to order your product you might quickly grow your audience that way.
A crazy idea could also be to have lots of videos, perhaps even customer testimonials on YouTube. More steamy ads could get a ton of views and some creative marketing could work here. However, turning your customers into your messengers is best. Perhaps even learning something from the Viagra playbook since you are in a similar market.
if u cant do a raunchy video... seed a crazy youtube video which supposed to poke fun at your product...!!
with like, a bear wearing the patch~ (man in bear outfit)... or someone in a gorilla outfit... then the gorilla wears the patch and starts humping this nerd with a mac... or the gorilla can put a patch on the zookeeper... and the zookeeper gets frisky
if the video has your website at the end of the video, loads of ppl will click on it...
Listen to webwatch, he just gave you a brilliant idea. I'll give you another brilliant idea: re-brand to a more coherent brandname. Noone can remember or spell that thing you call your product now which guarantees that your type-in traffic will approach 0, among other unpleasantries.
