For adwords, after submiting keywords with all matching formats, usually some of them are bolded with the message they overlap with other phrases.

I understand overlapping keywords compete with each other. So...is the best thing to delete the overlapped phrases that receive less traffic, etc?

    Thanks....Ken

I have found that the best thing to do is to always include all keywords and keyword phrases with all matching options into each Ad Group and I keep it that way. Having different keywords compete with each other is not a problem because Google will automatically serve the one that does best. However, for Google best = most money so you need to monitor how your keywords perform especially if you have unique bids per keyword phrase and matching option.

if you are tracking conversions and or ROI... you could/should delete the match type that is not profitable. simple.
