    Hi,
I am developing my 'free guide' for my future website upgrade. There will be an email series that visitors can sign up to in order to learn a bit more about the concept, as there are lots of misconceptions floating around. I am not sure if I should say "I" or "we" in the emails and generally around the place.

It is my own website, so I am thinking "I", so that it is more personal and conversational with the reader/ subscriber. Or would 'we' give the impression of a stronger 'organisation' behind the idea? I'm not sure.

or is this just silly minutia?

This is my first post, just wanting to get going here really! I'm LOVING the course.

definitely should be "i" - avoid "we" if you can as it's less personal

Hmmm ~ I am going to tell you what to do based on my experience. Or. Received opinion steers us to do xy & z so, with your agreement, we shall start with that first...

    Both have their merits.

    How about:

    Step One
    Step Two
    Step Three

It's an email series, right? Who is the email from -- you or a group? Use what's appropriate to the return address.
You get better response and more people reading it if you make it personal, written as if you are talking to your friend sitting in front of you. As a matter of fact, you can do this (talk to someone) and then write the email...it will come out better.

    Thankyou, joyously, sam.
Yes, it is me talking to people, so the personal chit chat is appropriate, and the way I am now going. Thankyou for the suggestion to actually say it out loud as a check - I should have thought of that as I am a teacher, and often told my students to read out their work to edit for pace, coherency and errors.

It is coming along great - my 'testers' are really enjoying it, I think it will be a great lead in to my online course.

flpteam, I couldn't quite follow what you said!
